So the other day I was reading Oswald Chambers and he said “The circumstances of a saint’s life are ordained of God.  In the life of a saint there is no such thing as chance.  God by His providence brings you into circumstances that you can’t understand at all, but the Spirit of God understands.”

So Noah came out!

So last week I wrote about Genesis 8 that seasons will never cease.  I just can not get out of this story and the new thing that is inspiring me this week is found in chapter 8 verse 18.  "So Noah came out...." Every time I read this again it helps me more.  God never intended to leave Noah in the boat forever.  In fact God says to Noah in verse 15 "Come out of the ark"  No matter what we are facing there will be an end.  The night does not last forever morning a...

Welcome to a new season

In Genesis chapter 8 Noah and his family come out of the boat and immediately Noah builds an altar to the Lord.  God then makes a promise to Noah that he will never again destroy all living creatures as He had done.  Then in verse 22 there is this promise as well "As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease."

Can you hear the whistle?

When you live in the wonderful land of Monmouth, Illinois there is a noise that rings loud over all other sounds.  It is the reverbations of the train engineer blowing his whistle as he approaches every crossing in town.  It is just my opinion but I believe they enjoy lingering on the blast in the early hours of the morning especially around 3:00.   That whistle is the sound I can hear ringing in my own head right now because my train of life is coming to a crossing.
